Dismounting using a back pedal brake, or coaster brake

I find when I have to dismount from my Speedwell whilst travelling downhill that the low stepthrough frame allows me to easily hop off while braking, by simply stepping through the low frame onto the same side as I have the brake pedal on and jumping to the ground, landing on both feet. Slowing down while preparing to dismount is not a concern with handlebar mounted brake levers but is a definite dilemma with the rear pedal brake as the pedals have to be in the correct position. I must have done this manoeuvre as a child as it comes quite naturally to me. It is not something I have ever been able to do on a modern bike either.
