Biking at 4am

This morning I had cause to ride to the other side of town at 4am … It was a very pleasant ride. The stars were out, there was no wind or rain or traffic (I saw two cars on my trip), it was not terribly cold, the light from my lights and the streetlights were plenty for my needs, I really enjoyed the ride and having the road to myself.

And the reason for this trip at such an hour? I was about to become a grandmother for the second time and a minder was required for my toddler grandson. About 40 minutes after my arrival, this little chap was welcomed into the world …

I have goosebumps…I’d ride all night for an event like that. Congratulations to you and the family.

Congratulations! What a beautiful, little grandson!

I ride home from work @ midnight and I love cycling at that time. No one around, no traffic to worry about and an excuse to wrap up in a woolly scarf!

Congratulations, indeed! I do appreciate the lack of wind late at night. At this time of year, it’s generally blowing about 20 mph when I leave work. What did they name your new grandson?

Thank you ladies, it was a great ride and he is a real cutie and doing very well. There is no name decided on yet, I will post it when it’s been settled.

And the baby’s name is Jack!
