Today I did another leg of the errandonneuring challenge, it was off to the grocery store, Errand #7. Riding there, there was a light misty rain, so I felt like a kindred spirit with my co-competitors in the northern hemisphere, who are undergoing a sufferfest in rain and snow to complete this challenge, as one of the aims is to get out biking in winter. Luckily the temp was a mild 20C and the rain was not heavy enough to wet me through so it was a mere token gesture to them but it is the thought that counts.
So this is Errand #7: Grocery Store. When I got to the centre I took a wrong turn in the carpark and stumbled across this enormous bank of bike racks underneath a ramp and out of sight of the shops in the centre …It was completely empty, my bike is only there for the photo opportunity, I then proceeded to the other racks which are directly outside the shops and much more secure and convenient. I learnt (yet again) that large corporations waste money on useless bike infrastructure because they do not consult with people who actually ride bikes.
