I was disappointed to find when riding along one of my favourite bike tracks the other day that all the graffiti had been removed from a long line of fences that I like to use as a backdrop for my Speedwell photos. I like graffiti, even if it is just tags, it adds character and colour to otherwise drab walls or fences and provides a great backdrop for photos of bikes, gardens or just about anything in the urban world. I have graffiti on my fence, which adjoins a laneway, I like it for the character it adds to the otherwise old and boring fence.
Meanwhile, on my walk along Throsby Creek today, I saw lots of young girls riding in groups on bikes like these:(This photo was taken last year in summer at the beach, but I wasn’t quick enough with the camera to snap the ones I saw today.) It reminds me of my childhood to see such sights, we used to go out in groups for rides on Sundays. Then for the longest time, riding was an uncool thing for young people to do. But now it’s back again. Thankfully.
The most common search term for people finding this blog is for Shimano Nexus 3 Speed hubs and problems with them, and I have written much about this before. I had given up hope of being able to engage all 3 speeds on mine with any regularity, but I am happy to report that now it is working perfectly after being adjusted again. Apparently the cable stretches after a period of time on new ones and now that mine has been adjusted I have all three speeds available to me. I love it!
